4-D Ultrasound

Do you recall the first time you were pregnant and saw your developing baby on the ultrasound screen? As you were overwhelmed with feelings of love, joy and amazement did you struggle to figure out what you were looking at?

Get to know your baby up close and personal with our 4-D Ultrasound offered at Florida Hospital Altamonte.

Our newly renovated ultrasound rooms offer soothing music, dim lighting, and 32-inch high definition flat screen TVs so that you can easily view your baby.

As the select local source for this groundbreaking technology, Florida Hospital Altamonte is able to provide you with a highly defined and continuously updated image of your unborn child.

Plus through diagnostic ultrasound we are able to present your doctor with a better analysis of your baby's development so you all end up feeling more secure and better informed about the good health of your family.

4-D facts

  • Insurance will cover the cost of the ultrasound if the patient's insurance will pay for an ultrasound at Florida Hospital.
  • A prescription for an OB ultrasound is necessary for the exam.
  • There is no difference in cost between traditional and 4-D ultrasound. 4D is performed at the end of a complete OB scan.
  • 4D facial features are best viewed between 22 and 32 weeks of pregnancy.
  • The quality of the pictures is dependent upon the size of the patient, position of the baby, and amount of amniotic fluid.
  • Patient will receive a still picture and CD of images. We recommend bringing a VHS tape for a video.
  • Patients may bring one guest for 2D portion of scan, with as many as two additional guests for 4D portion (performed after 2D scan).
